Financial Managment in the Church

Hi,                                                                                                                                                You’ve found my website.  It is devoted primarily to letting people have easy access to the major chapters of my book and to answering questions or concerns that come up in connection with reading them.  Based on years of practical experience, Financial Management in the Church provides focus and clarity to the specific management tasks facing ordained and lay leaders of church communities — whether developing the annual budget, accounting for funds during the year, managing staff compensation, or managing the annual stewardship drive.  Appendices include specific examples to guide you in establishing financial policies, setting up a Giving Guide for parishioners, displaying a budget for congregational consideration, developing understandable financial reports, and much more.

You can review the book’s introduction and contents page by clicking the tab above; most of the chapters can be read via the drop down menu.  The detailed examples offered in the appendices are too distracting to be useful on this website, however, and can only be obtained by purchasing the book itself.  If you would like to know a little more about me and the experiences that led me to write, I have included a page with some of my professional and church consulting history.  I have also gathered together a few comments from others who have attended my workshops or written to comment on the book after reading it.

In any case, thanks for your interest in my ideas on a subject important to me.  If you just want to buy the book, you can do that too, of course.

Peter
